Speaker Agreement
Thanks so much for your willingness to contribute your time and expertise! Please complete this form to confirm your participation in the event and that you understand and accept the responsibilities, terms, and conditions outlined below.
Inclusion
SHRM-Atlanta is committed to providing welcoming, safe, and inclusive learning environments at its conferences and events. During our programs, we want all participants to share ideas, network, and enjoy the company of others, and we recognize that our ability to create this experience depends on the behavior of all in attendance.
Event speakers are expected to conduct themselves according to SHRM-Atlanta’s core values, and the ethical standards of the profession. All members of the SHRM-Atlanta community are to be considerate; refrain from any demeaning, harassing, or discriminatory behavior or speech; and immediately comply with any requests to discontinue objectionable behavior.
Copyright and Intellectual Property
Speaker retains copyright ownership of the presentation content but grants SHRM-Atlanta permission to use session materials from the program.
Sessions may be live streamed and/or recorded. Speaker understands that SHRM-Atlanta will share with Speaker ownership of any recordings associated with the session. Any other recording of the presentation is prohibited unless authorized in writing by SHRM-Atlanta.
SHRM-Atlanta
Please note, we are SHRM-Atlanta NOT SHRM (SHRM is a separate organization). Although we are affiliated with SHRM, it is technically a separate national organization so it’s inaccurate to refer to us as such. Please be sure to reference this correctly in any/all verbal, online, or written communication.
Speaker respects SHRM-Atlanta as the sponsoring organization with either positive or neutral comments from the platform. Views and opinions expressed during your program are strictly those of the Speaker and not those of SHRM-Atlanta.
Promotion
The Speaker is prohibited from using the podium as a place for direct promotion of their company, product, service, or monetary self-interest. The Speaker may not sell materials before, during, and/or after the event.
Assignment
The Speaker may not assign, delegate, or subcontract the Services to be performed under this Agreement, either in whole or in part, without the prior written consent SHRM-Atlanta, which SHRM-Atlanta may grant or withhold in its discretion.
Cancellation
Speaker agrees to and will not request a change to the assigned program day and/or time once the agreement has been finalized.
Speaker agrees to work closely with program organizers and meet all deadlines. SHRM-Atlanta reserves the right to cancel this agreement and replace the Speaker if the specified due dates for deliverables are missed.
In the unavoidable situation that Speaker is unable to fulfill commitment, Speaker will promptly notify SHRM-Atlanta so that an alternate speaker can be determined.
Speaker acknowledges that in the event of force majeure circumstances outside the control of SHRM-Atlanta, such as but not limited to fire, weather, or other such acts of God resulting in the cancellation of the SHRM-Atlanta program, SHRM-Atlanta is not liable for any expenses, costs, or damages incurred by the Speaker.
Liability
Speaker agrees to indemnify and hold harmless SHRM-Atlanta against any claims, losses, expenses, or damages that may be incurred by SHRM-Atlanta because of the presentation. Speaker agrees that the use of any materials prepared and presented will not expose SHRM-Atlanta to liability for breach of confidence for infringement of copyright or similar liability. Further, all individuals entering the premises of the SHRM-Atlanta annual conference must agree to SHRM-Atlanta’s event policies.
Choice of Law
Any dispute under this Agreement or related to this Agreement shall be decided in accordance with the law of the State of Georgia.
