SHRM-Atlanta Service Day
SHRM-Atlanta Service Day
Wednesday, November 18, 2026 (9:00 AM - 12:00 PM) (EST)
Description
Step away from the workplace and into the community for a hands-on service experience at Our Giving Garden, a nonprofit farm and education center in Mableton, Georgia. Participants will work alongside fellow HR professionals and volunteers to support the farm’s efforts to address food insecurity by providing fresh produce, eggs, and honey to families in need. Along the way, participants will explore how volunteer-powered organizations mobilize people around a shared mission and how community engagement can strengthen connection, purpose, and belonging. This service day offers an opportunity to make a tangible impact while considering how HR leaders can encourage meaningful community involvement within their own organizations.
By the end of this experience, participants will be able to:
- Explain how community-based organizations use volunteers to advance their mission and address local needs.
- Connect employee volunteerism and community engagement to organizational purpose, belonging, and culture.
- Identify opportunities to strengthen community engagement through workplace volunteer and service initiatives.
